Bodegas Alto Moncayo is a winery located in the area covered by the Campo de Borja Denominación de Origen (DO, wine quality standard). It was founded in 2002 by chief winemaker José Luis Chueca Sancho and renowned winemaker Chris Ringland with the aim of being a world reference for Garnacha wines of the highest quality. The Garnacha grape is one of the varieties that best expresses its terroir, and the Garnacha of Alto Moncayo is different from the rest of the Campo de Borja D.O. area. This is due to the very strict selection being made. With the altitude of the vineyards, the type of soil, the microclimate and the old age of the vines (from the native vine clones), the wines from Alto Moncayo possess great richness, fruitiness and minerality. Along with the experience and expertise of the winemakers, Alto Mocayo has truly become one of the top wineries in Campo de Borja D.O. today.

Their portfolio consists of three labels - Veraton, Alto Moncayo and Aquilon. Veraton is composed from more fruit forward parcels and receives just a gentle touch of oak. Alto Moncayo is the flagship of the winery, with its components receiving between 20 to 24 months maturation in 100% new American and French oak hogsheads and barricas. Aquilon represents a selection of the very finest barrels from the vintage.
