Collection: YERINGBERG CABERNET BLEND 2018/2019
Established in 1863; Yeringberg is a farm, vineyard and winery located in Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia. This estate releases radiate quality and history, still in production and family hands after more than a staggering 160 turns of the sun. Current custodian Sandra de Pury is a wine-making legend, very humble considering her achievements. These are collectable, highly sought-after wines. What is staggering about Yeringberg year after year is their mastery across all varieties, from whites to reds. Even though their flagship wine is their Cabernet, there is a good argument that every wine from Yeringberg flies the flag as a benchmark for the Yarra Valley. Today it is heading into its fifth generation of forward-thinking custodianship by the de Pury family.
In general, the Yeringberg Cabernet Blend comprises of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (15%), Cabernet Franc (15%), Malbec (5%) and Petit Verdot (5%). After batch vinification in open fermenters, maturation follows in new (40%) and seasoned French oak barriques for 20 to 22 months. This claret style is typified by fresh cassis and violet aromas, fine-grained tannins, minerally texture and underlying savoury oak.
